Corrections Policy

BuzzyAfrica is committed to accuracy in all our reporting. We recognize that errors can occur, and when they do, we address them promptly, transparently, and with clear documentation. Our corrections policy reflects our commitment to the trust our readers place in us.
Types of Corrections
- Minor corrections — Typographical errors, misspellings, incorrect dates, or minor factual details that do not change the substance of the story. These are corrected directly in the article with a brief note at the bottom: "Correction: [date] — This article was updated to correct [detail]."
- Significant corrections — Errors that materially affect the meaning, context, or accuracy of the story (e.g., incorrect figures, misattributed quotes, wrong names of key individuals). A visible correction notice is placed at the top of the article explaining what was changed and why.
- Clarifications — When an article is technically accurate but could be misinterpreted due to ambiguous language or missing context. A clarification note is added to the article.
- Retractions — In rare cases where an article is found to be fundamentally inaccurate or based on unreliable sources, we retract the article. The original URL remains live with a retraction notice explaining the reason.
Our Process
- Receive report — Errors can be reported via email, social media, or our contact form.
- Verify — Our editorial team investigates the reported error against original sources and available evidence.
- Correct — If the error is confirmed, we publish the correction within 24 hours for significant errors and 48 hours for minor corrections.
- Document — All corrections are noted on the article itself. We maintain an internal log of corrections for editorial accountability.

Commitment to Accountability
We believe that transparent corrections strengthen, rather than undermine, journalistic credibility. We do not silently edit articles to remove errors. All changes are documented and visible to readers. Our editorial team reviews correction patterns regularly to identify and address systemic issues in our editorial process.
